Vertinor 8 Tablet - (8mg Betahistine)

Presentation: Each tablet contains 8 mg of Betahistine Dihydrochloride. 

Indications: Vertinor 8 is used to treat Ménière's disease, a disorder of the inner ear. Its symptoms include:

• Vertigo (dizziness or spinning sensation)
• Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
• Hearing loss
• Nausea

It is thought to work by improving blood flow in the inner ear and reducing the pressure caused by excess fluid.

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose for adults is 8 to 16 mg three times daily, preferably taken with meals. Maintenance doses are generally in the range of 24-48 mg daily, divided into 2 or 3 doses. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose for you. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Take it at the same time(s) each day. You may need to take this medicine for several months.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Indigestion
• Stomach pain
• Bloating

Taking the medicine with food can help reduce stomach problems.

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have:

• A stomach ulcer
• Asthma
• Low blood pressure
• Kidney or liver disease
• Allergies

Also, tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including antihistamines and MAO inhibitors. Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult your doctor. It may cause dizziness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
