Pizo A 1.5contains Pizotifenat a strength of 1.5mg per tablet.It is manufactured by The ACME Laboratories Ltd.in Bangladesh.

Indications:

Pizo A is indicated for the prophylactic treatment of recurrent vascular headaches, including:

• Classical migraine
• Common migraine
• Cluster headache (periodic migrainous neuralgia)

It is important to note that Pizo A is not effective in relieving migraine attacks once they have started.  

Dosage and Administration:

The usual adult dose is 1.5 mg daily at night as a single dose or in three divided doses of 0.5 mg each. The dosage should be adjusted to individual patient requirements, up to a maximum of 4.5 mg daily. The maximum single daily dose at night is 3 mg.

For children over 2 years, the usual dose is up to 1.5 mg daily, usually as a divided dose, with a maximum single daily dose at night of 1 mg.⁴Always follow your doctor's specific instructions.

Side Effects:

The most commonly occurring side effects are:

• Drowsiness 
• Increased appetite, which may lead to an increase in body weight  

Other side effects such as dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, and constipation have been reported infrequently.In children, CNS stimulation may occur.  

Precautions:

Patients should be cautioned about the possibility of drowsiness and its significance when driving or operating machinery. The central effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol may be enhanced by Pizotifen.10 Caution should be exercised in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma or prostate hypertrophy, although its anticholinergic activity is relatively weak.
