Presentation: Tablets containing Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate, available in various strengths such as 20 mg elemental Zinc (100 mg Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate) and 50 mg elemental Zinc (220 mg Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate).

Ingredients: Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate BP (amount of elemental Zinc specified on packaging).

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of zinc deficiency. Zinc is essential for numerous bodily functions including immune function, wound healing, growth and development, and sensory functions like taste and smell. May be used in conditions such as growth retardation, skin lesions, increased susceptibility to infections, and diarrhea.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage depends on age and the severity of the zinc deficiency.

• Adults: For mild deficiency, 10-20 mg elemental Zinc daily. For severe deficiency, higher doses may be required as directed by a physician.
• Children: Dosage should be determined by a physician based on age and weight. It is most effective if taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals but can be taken with food if it causes stomach upset.

Side Effects: May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, heartburn, and gastritis, especially at higher doses.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to zinc. In acute renal failure, zinc accumulation may occur, requiring dose adjustment. Concomitant intake of tetracycline or quinolone antibiotics and zinc may decrease the absorption of both; maintain a 3-hour interval.

Storage: Store in a dry place away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Do not store above 30°C.
