Zero 8 mg is a tablet containing Sucralose 8 mg. It is a sugar substitute and artificial sweetener manufactured by The ACME Laboratories Ltd. in Bangladesh.  

Indications

Zero 8 mg (Sucralose) is used as a zero-calorie sweetener for various foods and beverages. It is particularly suitable for:  

• Health-conscious individuals who want to reduce their calorie intake.  
• Diabetic patients who need to manage their blood glucose levels, as it does not affect carbohydrate metabolism or insulin secretion.  
• It can be used in hot and cold beverages like tea, coffee, as well as in foods like pudding, milk products, jelly, fruit juices, and desserts.  

The FDA has confirmed that Sucralose is suitable for use by everyone, including children and pregnant women.  

Pharmacology

Sucralose is an artificial sweetener derived from sucrose (table sugar) where three hydroxyl groups are replaced by three chlorine atoms. This modification makes it about 320 to 1,000 times sweeter than sucrose. The body does not break down or metabolize the majority of ingested sucralose, so it passes through unchanged and provides zero calories. It is stable under heat and across a broad range of pH conditions, making it suitable for baking and products requiring a longer shelf life. It also does not cause tooth decay.  

Dosage and Administration

Zero 8 mg is taken orally.  

• Adults and Children: The acceptable daily intake (ADI) of sucralose is 5-15 mg/kg body weight.  
• Normal Use: Typically,1 tablet (8 mg) in a cup of tea or coffee is sufficient to sweeten the drink. This 8 mg tablet is equivalent to the sweetness of approximately one teaspoon of sugar.  

Side Effects

According to available information, there are no known side effects associated with Sucralose at recommended intake levels. It is generally considered safe for consumption.
