Xetril 0.5
Presentation: Each tablet contains Clonazepam BP 0.5 mg. Tablets are usually uncoated or film-coated and supplied in blister packs or strips.
Indications: Xetril is indicated for the treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia. It is also indicated alone or as an adjunct in the treatment of the Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (petit mal variant), akinetic, and myoclonic seizures. It may be indicated in patients with absence seizures (petit mal) who have failed to respond to succinimides.
Dosage and Administration: Dosage must be individualized.

Side Effects: The most common side effects are related to central nervous system depression, including drowsiness and ataxia. Other possible side effects include behavioral problems, abnormal eye movements, confusion, depression, amnesia, and hallucinations.
Precautions: Xetril should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines or those with significant liver disease. It can be administered to patients with open-angle glaucoma who are receiving appropriate treatment but should not be used in cases of acute narrow-angle glaucoma.Use with caution in patients with chronic respiratory insufficiency, renal dysfunction, and in elderly or debilitated patients. May be habit-forming. Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Drug Interactions: Xetril does not appear to affect the pharmacokinetics of phenytoin, carbamazepine, or phenobarbital. The effect of Xetril on the metabolism of other drugs has not been investigated.The depressant effects may be additive with other CNS depressants, including alcohol.
Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
