Xelosil Suspension

Presentation: Xelosil is available as an aniseed-flavored suspension. Each 10 ml of suspension contains Sodium Alginate BP 500 mg, Sodium Bicarbonate BP 213 mg, and Calcium Carbonate USP 325 mg. 

Indications:Xelosil is indicated for the treatment of acid-related symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as:  

• Acid regurgitation  
• Heartburn  
• Indigestion  
• Flatulence associated with gastric reflux  
• Heartburn of pregnancy  
• All cases of epigastric and retrosternal distresswhere the underlying cause is gastric reflux.  

Dosage and Administration: Xelosil is for oral administration after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day. A time interval of 2 hours should be considered between Xelosil intake and the administration of other medicinal products.  

• Adults and children over 12 years:10-20 ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.  
• Children 6 to 12 years:5-10 ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.  
• Children under 6 years:Not recommended.  
• Elderly:No dose modifications necessary.  

Side Effects:In addition to the desired effect of the drug, some side effects may appear such as:  

• Constipation  
• Flatulence  
• Stomach cramp  
• Belching In case of taking too big a dose, a sensation of swelling might appear. In these cases, consult a physician.

Precautions: Xelosil is contraindicated in patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients.Caution should be taken if a highly restricted salt diet is necessary.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Xelosil is indicated for heartburn of pregnancy. However, it is always advisable to consult a healthcare professional before taking any medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.  

Storage: Store below 30°C, away from direct light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
