Indications:

X-Cold (Ambroxol Hydrochloride) is a mucolytic agent used to help clear mucus (phlegm) from the airways. It is indicated for:

• Productive cough associated with acute and chronic respiratory tract disorders such as:
  • Common cold
  • Flu
  • Sinusitis
  • Bronchitis
  • Pneumonia
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Bronchiectasis

Pharmacology:

Ambroxol Hydrochloride is a mucolytic agent that enhances the secretion of respiratory tract fluid and pulmonary surfactant and stimulates ciliary activity. These actions result in improved mucus flow and transport (mucociliary clearance), making it easier to cough up phlegm and clear the airways. 

Dosage and Administration:

The dosage of X-Cold Syrup depends on the age of the patient. Always follow your doctor's prescription or the instructions on the product packaging.

Typical dosages are:

• Children up to 2 years: 2.5 ml (½ teaspoonful) 2 times daily.
• Children 2-5 years: 2.5 ml (½ teaspoonful) 3 times daily.
• Children 6-12 years: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) 2-3 times daily.
• Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 3 times daily for the first 2-3 days, then 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 2 times daily.
