Vortiox 20 Tablet

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains 20 mg of Vortioxetine (as Vortioxetine Hydrobromide). 

Indications: Vortiox is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults. It is thought to work by affecting multiple neurotransmitters in the brain, primarily serotonin, by inhibiting its reuptake and also by acting on certain serotonin receptors.

Dosage and Administration: The recommended starting dose is 10 mg once daily, without regard to meals. The dosage may be increased to 20 mg per day as tolerated. A dose decrease down to 5 mg per day may be considered for patients who do not tolerate higher doses. The lowest effective dose of 5 mg per day should always be used as the starting dose for elderly patients (≥ 65 years of age). Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, constipation, and vomiting. Other possible side effects include dry mouth, dizziness, and abnormal dreams. Serious side effects can occur; seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms like changes in mood, suicidal thoughts, agitation, fast heartbeat, hallucinations, muscle stiffness or twitching, or signs of allergic reaction.

Precautions: Inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, including a history of bipolar disorder, mania, seizures, bleeding disorders, glaucoma, or low sodium levels. Vortioxetine may interact with other medications, including MAO inhibitors, SSRIs, SNRIs, and certain pain medications. Use caution while driving or operating machinery as it may cause dizziness. Discuss use during pregnancy and breastfeeding with your doctor. Avoid abrupt discontinuation of the medication.

Storage: Store below 30°C (86°F), protected from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
