Vonozan 20
Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Vonoprazan Fumarate INN equivalent to Vonoprazan 20 mg. It is usually available in blister packs.
Indications: Vonozan (Vonoprazan) is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) indicated for:
Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dose is 20 mg once daily for gastric ulcer (up to 8 weeks) and duodenal ulcer (up to 6 weeks). For reflux esophagitis, the usual dose is 20 mg once daily for up to 4 weeks, which may be extended to 8 weeks if needed. For maintenance therapy of reflux esophagitis, the dose is 10 mg once daily, potentially increased to 20 mg if efficacy is inadequate. For preventing recurrence of ulcers with low-dose aspirin or NSAIDs, the dose is 10 mg once daily. For H. pylori eradication, it's typically 20 mg twice daily for 7 days with specific antibiotics.
Vonozan can be taken without regard to food. Follow your physician's instructions precisely.
Side Effects: Common side effects reported with Vonozan may include diarrhea, constipation, nausea, abdominal distension, and rash. Less common side effects can include drug hypersensitivity reactions (including anaphylactic shock), urticaria, hepatotoxicity, and jaundice.
Precautions: Vonozan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to vonoprazan or any excipients and in patients receiving atazanavir sulphate, nelfinavir, or rilpivirine hydrochloride. Exercise caution in patients with renal disorders, as excretion of vonoprazan may be delayed, potentially increasing blood concentrations. Hepatic impairment may also require careful administration.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Vonozan should be used during pregnancy only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. It is advisable to avoid administering Vonozan to nursing mothers; if essential, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
