Ultracal-D 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol). Available in various strengths, such as Calcium Carbonate equivalent to 500 mg elemental Calcium with Vitamin D3 200 IU or 400 IU. Available in strips. Manufactured by Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate BP (amount of elemental Calcium specified on packaging) and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) BP (strength specified on packaging).

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency. It is used to support bone health, prevent osteoporosis, and manage conditions related to low calcium and Vitamin D levels. May also be recommended during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in elderly individuals.

Dosage & Administration: Adults: 1 to 2 tablets daily or as directed by a physician. The tablets should preferably be taken with or after meals to enhance absorption.

Side Effects: Infrequent side effects may include mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as constipation, flatulence, nausea, or stomach upset. Hypercalcemia may occur with very high doses or prolonged use.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, severe hypercalciuria, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), and Vitamin D toxicity. Caution should be exercised in patients with mild to moderate renal insufficiency, sarcoidosis, and those taking thiazide diuretics or cardiac glycosides. Calcium supplements may interact with certain medications; it is advisable to inform your doctor about all medications you are taking.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
