📋 Indications: Progesterone Deficiencies & Uterine Support

Safyron is indicated for conditions linked to low natural progesterone levels, including:

• Pregnancy Support: Treatment of threatened miscarriage (sudden bleeding/cramps) or a history of habitual miscarriages.

• Menstrual Cycle Regulation: Management of painful periods (dysmenorrhea), severe endometriosis, irregular cycles, or missed periods (secondary amenorrhea).

• Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: Arresting or preventing dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

• Fertility Assistance: Treating infertility caused by a short luteal phase (luteal insufficiency) and providing luteal support during Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART/IVF) cycles.

• Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): Protecting the uterine lining in women taking estrogen for natural or surgically induced menopause.

🥄 Dosage & Cycle-Specific Administration

Because dosing schedules depend entirely on the specific condition and days of the menstrual cycle, use this medication strictly as scheduled by your doctor.

• Threatened Miscarriage:40 mg (4 tablets) immediately as a loading dose, followed by 10 mg (1 tablet) every 8 hours until symptoms resolve.

• Habitual Miscarriage:10 mg twice daily consistently until the 20th week of pregnancy.

• Dysmenorrhea (Painful Periods): 10 mg twice daily from Day 5 to Day 25 of the menstrual cycle.

• Irregular Cycles: 10 mg twice daily from Day 11 to Day 25 of the cycle.

• Infertility (Luteal Insufficiency): 10 mg daily from Day 14 to Day 25 of the cycle, continued for at least 6 consecutive cycles.

• IVF / Luteal Support (ART): 10 mg three times daily starting from the day of egg collection (oocyte retrieval) and continuing for 10 weeks if pregnancy is confirmed.

⚠️ Precautions & Warning Signs to Monitor

• Abnormal Bleeding: Before starting Safyron for irregular bleeding, your doctor must verify its cause. Mild spotting or breakthrough bleeding can happen during the first few months of use. If it starts later or persists after stopping treatment, inform your doctor—an endometrial biopsy may be required to rule out structural or malignant issues.

• When to Stop Immediately: Discontinue use and contact your doctor right away if you experience sudden, severe headaches or migraines, signs of a blood clot (swelling or severe pain in one leg), a significant spike in blood pressure, or symptoms of jaundice (yellowing skin or eyes).

• Depression: If you have a history of depression, monitor your mood closely. Treatment must stop if severe depression returns.

🛑 Contraindications

Do not use Safyron if you have:

• An active or suspected progestogen-dependent tumor (e.g., certain meningiomas).

• Undiagnosed, unusual vaginal bleeding.

• A history of severe blood clots (thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic disorders), stroke, or coronary artery disease.

• Active liver disease, severe liver dysfunction, or a history of liver tumors.

• A history of herpes or severe cholestatic itching during a prior pregnancy.

🤰 Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: Clinical evidence indicates that dydrogesterone can be safely used during pregnancy when explicitly prescribed for miscarriage prevention or luteal support. It does not cause harmful fetal side effects.

• Lactation: Dydrogesterone transfers into breast milk. Because a potential risk to a nursing infant cannot be completely ruled out, Safyron is not recommended for use while breastfeeding.
