Resco 2 Tablet - (2mg)

Presentation:

Each tablet contains 2 mg of Risperidone. 

Indications:

Resco 2 Tablet is indicated for:

• Acute and chronic schizophrenic psychoses
• Mania  
• Other psychotic conditions

Dosage and Administration:

• Psychoses: Initially 2 mg daily in 1-2 divided doses, then 4 mg daily in 1-2 divided doses on the second day. Usual dose range is 4-6 mg daily. Doses above 10 mg should only be used if the benefit outweighs the risk (maximum 16 mg daily).
• Elderly (or in hepatic or renal impairment): Initially 1 mg daily in two divided doses, increased gradually in steps of 1-2 mg twice daily.
• Mania: Initially 2 mg once daily, increased if needed in steps of 1 mg daily. Usual dose range is 1-6 mg daily.
• Elderly (or in hepatic or renal impairment): Initially 1 mg daily in two divided doses, increased gradually in steps of 1-2 mg twice daily.
• Schizophrenia (Children >13 years): Initially 0.5 mg twice daily, may be increased in increments of 0.5 mg twice daily up to 1-2 mg twice daily. Further dosage adjustments, if indicated, should generally occur at intervals of not less than 1 week.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Insomnia  
• Agitation  
• Anxiety  
• Headache  
• Drowsiness  
• Impaired concentration  
• Fatigue  
• Blurred vision  
• Constipation  
• Nausea and vomiting  
• Dyspepsia  
• Abdominal pain  
• Increased prolactin levels
• Urine incontinence
• Tachycardia
• Hypertension
• Edema
• Rash
• Rhinitis

Less common side effects may include cerebrovascular accident and neutropenia.

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing cardiovascular diseases.
• Discontinue use if signs and symptoms of tardive dyskinesia occur.
• Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease.
• Resco 2 Tablet may increase the risk of death in elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis and is not approved for this use.
• May cause drowsiness; caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery.
• The safety of Resco 2 Tablet during pregnancy has not been established and it is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding.Women receiving Risperidone should not breastfeed.

Contraindications:

Resco 2 Tablet is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Risperidone.16

Storage:

Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture.17 Keep out of the reach of children.
