  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
  • Erosive esophagitis (acid-related damage to the lining of the esophagus)
  • Treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection (in combination with antibiotics)
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Dosage and Administration: Rabenta 20 tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid and should not be chewed or crushed. It is recommended to take Rabenta once daily, preferably in the morning before food. The duration of treatment depends on the condition being treated.

  • Duodenal ulcers: The usual adult dose is 20 mg once daily for 2-4 weeks.
  • Gastric ulcers: The usual adult dose is 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks.
  • GERD: The usual adult dose is 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks. For maintenance therapy, a dose of 10 mg or 20 mg once daily may be used.
  • Erosive esophagitis: The usual adult dose is 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks. For maintenance therapy, a dose of 10 mg or 20 mg once daily may be used.
  • H. pylori eradication: Rabeprazole 20 mg is usually given twice daily in combination with specific antibiotics for 7 days.
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: The starting dose is usually 60 mg once daily, which may be adjusted by the physician based on individual needs, up to 120 mg daily. Doses above 100 mg may be given in two divided doses.

The dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by a physician based on the individual patient's condition and response to therapy.

Side Effects: Common side effects of Rabenta (Rabeprazole) may include:

Precautions: Rabenta (Rabeprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rabeprazole or any other proton pump inhibitors. Caution should be exercised in patients with:

  • Severe liver impairment.
  • A history of allergic reactions to other PPIs.
  • Risk factors for osteoporosis (long-term use may increase the risk of fractures).

Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, asrabeprazole can interact with certain medicines, such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, and warfarin.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Rabenta is generally not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly needed and the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the foetus.
