Dosage and Administration: The recommended oral dose is 20 mg once daily in the morning for active duodenal ulcer and active benign gastric ulcer. Most patients with active duodenal ulcer heal within four weeks, but some may require an additional four weeks. Most patients with active benign gastric ulcer heal within six weeks, with some needing an additional six weeks. For erosive or ulcerative GERD, the dose is 20 mg once daily for four to eight weeks. For long-term GERD management, a maintenance dose of 20 mg or 10 mg once daily can be used based on patient response. For symptomatic GERD without oesophagitis, the dose is 10 mg once daily. For Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, the starting dose is 60 mg once daily, which may be adjusted up to 120 mg/day. For H. pylori eradication, Rabeprazole 20 mg is given twice daily with specific antibiotics (e.g., amoxicillin and clarithromycin) for 7 days.
Rabenaaf capsules should be swallowed whole and taken in the morning, before eating. Patients should be cautioned not to chew or crush the capsules. For duodenal ulcers, it is sometimes recommended to take it after the morning meal. For H. pylori eradication, it is usually taken with morning and evening meals along with antibiotics. Always follow your physician's specific instructions.
