Qpine 25

Presentation: Each tablet contains 25 mg Quetiapine (as Quetiapine Fumarate).

Indications: Treatment of acute and chronic psychoses, including schizophrenia. Treatment of manic and depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder. Maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder in combination with mood stabilizers.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage varies depending on the condition being treated.

• Schizophrenia: Usually starts at 50 mg on Day 1, 100 mg on Day 2, 200 mg on Day 3, and 300 mg on Day 4, given twice daily. The usual effective dose is 300-450 mg per day, but may range from 150 to 750 mg per day.
• Manic Episodes of Bipolar Disorder: Usually starts at 100 mg on Day 1, 200 mg on Day 2, 300 mg on Day 3, and 400 mg on Day 4, given twice daily. Further adjustments up to 800 mg per day by Day 6. The usual effective dose is 400-800 mg per day.
• Depressive Episodes of Bipolar Disorder: Usually starts at 50 mg on Day 1, 100 mg on Day 2, 200 mg on Day 3, and 300 mg on Day 4, given once daily at bedtime. May be increased to 400 mg on Day 5 and up to 600 mg by Day 8.
• Maintenance Treatment of Bipolar I Disorder: Continue with the same dose that showed a response during acute treatment, usually 400-800 mg per day in two divided doses.

Take twice daily (or once daily at bedtime for bipolar depression), with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects include sleepiness, dizziness, dry mouth, withdrawal symptoms upon stopping the drug, increased levels of triglycerides and total cholesterol, decreased HDL cholesterol, weight gain, and decreased hemoglobin.

Precautions: Use caution with alcohol and other medications that can cause electrolyte imbalance or increase the QT interval. Inform your doctor if you have heart problems, a history of seizures, liver problems, or any allergies. May cause drowsiness and dizziness. Regular monitoring of blood sugar, cholesterol, and weight may be recommended.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
