Precodil 2 

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Prednisolone BP 2 mg. Available in strips.

Indications: Treatment of various inflammatory and allergic conditions, rheumatic disorders, skin diseases, endocrine disorders, respiratory diseases, hematologic disorders, nephrotic syndrome, and other conditions responsive to corticosteroid therapy.

Dosage and Administration: The initial dosage may vary from 5 mg to 60 mg daily depending on the specific disease being treated. For Precodil 2 mg, the physician will determine the number of tablets based on the required dose. Dosage should be individualized based on the patient's response and the severity of the condition. It is usually administered orally, with food to minimize gastrointestinal upset. Discontinuation of prolonged therapy should be gradual.

Side Effects: Common side effects include increased appetite, indigestion, nervousness or restlessness. Less frequent side effects may include fluid retention, mood changes, increased sweating, headache, and dizziness. Long-term use may lead to more serious side effects such as weight gain, high blood pressure, increased blood sugar, osteoporosis, and increased risk of infection.

Precautions: Contraindicated in systemic infections unless specific anti-infective therapy is employed and in patients with hypersensitivity to prednisolone. Caution is necessary in patients with tuberculosis, hypertension, liver failure, renal insufficiency, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, a history of steroid-induced psychoses, epilepsy, or previous steroid myopathy. Avoid live vaccinations during treatment.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
