Pizo A 0.5

Presentation: Each tablet contains 0.5 mg Pizotifen. Available in strips.

Indications:Prophylactic treatment of vascular headache of migraine type such as classical migraine, common migraine and cluster headache. It is not effective in relieving migraine attacks once in progress.¹May also stimulate appetite.

Dosage & Administration: Adults: Usually 1.5 mg daily, as a single dose at night or in three divided doses. Dosage should be adjusted up to a maximum of 4.5 mg daily. Up to 3 mg may be given as a single dose. Children (over 2 years): Up to 1.5 mg daily, usually as a divided dose, although up to 1 mg has been given as a single dose at night. Follow your doctor's instructions. May be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: The most common side effects are appetite stimulating effect, increase in body weight and drowsiness. Less common: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, muscle pain or cramps, fluid retention.

Precautions: Use with caution in patients with urinary retention, renal impairment, or epilepsy. Drowsiness may affect driving or operating machinery. Pizo-A enhances the action of alcohol. Avoid abrupt withdrawal.

Storage: Keep in a dry place away from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children.
