Picosoft 

Presentation: Picosoft 100ml is an oral solution containing Sodium Picosulfate at a concentration of 5 mg per 5 ml. It is available in 100 ml bottles.

Indications: Picosoft (Sodium Picosulfate) is indicated for the short-term relief of constipation. It is also used for bowel preparation before medical procedures such as colonoscopy or surgery.

Dosage and Administration: Picosoft oral solution is usually taken as a single dose at night to produce a bowel movement the following morning. The recommended doses are:

• Adults and children over 10 years: 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoonfuls) once daily at bedtime.
• Children aged 4-10 years: 2.5-5 ml (½-1 teaspoonful) once daily at bedtime.
• Children aged 1 month to 4 years: 0.25 ml per kg of body weight once daily at bedtime (maximum 5 ml).

Use the measuring cup or spoon provided for accurate dosing. Shake the bottle well before use.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include abdominal cramps, abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, and nausea. Less common side effects may include vomiting, dizziness, and electrolyte imbalances (with prolonged or excessive use).

Precautions: Picosoft (Sodium Picosulfate) is contraindicated in patients with ileus or intestinal obstruction, severe painful abdominal conditions (like appendicitis), acute inflammatory bowel diseases, and severe dehydration. Caution should be used in patients with kidney or liver problems, heart disease, or a history of seizures. Prolonged use may lead to dependence and electrolyte imbalance.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: While considered generally safe, pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using Picosoft.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
