Pedipred 50 (Oral Solution)

Presentation: Each 5 ml of oral solution contains Prednisolone BP 50 mg (as Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate). Available in bottles of varying sizes, as specified on the packaging.

Indications: Pedipred is an oral corticosteroid solution indicated for the treatment of a wide range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including:

• Allergic disorders (e.g., asthma, allergic rhinitis, urticaria)
• Rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic diseases
• Skin disorders (e.g., eczema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis)
• Endocrine disorders (e.g., adrenal insufficiency)
• Respiratory diseases (e.g., symptomatic sarcoidosis)
• Hematologic disorders (e.g., autoimmune hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenic purpura)
• Gastrointestinal diseases (e.g., ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease)
• Nephrotic syndrome
• Certain neoplastic diseases

The specific condition and its severity will determine the appropriate indication and dosage. This formulation, with its higher concentration, may be particularly useful for conditions requiring higher doses or for ease of administration in certain patient populations.

Dosage and Administration: Dosage is highly variable and depends on the disease being treated, its severity, and the patient's response. The physician will prescribe the appropriate dose and frequency. Pedipred is administered orally. Use a calibrated measuring device (oral syringe or measuring spoon) to ensure accurate dosing. It is often recommended to take this medication with food to minimize stomach irritation.

• Heart failure
• Kidney disease
• Liver disease
• Psychiatric disorders
• Active infections (that are not being treated with appropriate antibiotics)

Inform your doctor if the patient has any infections or has recently been exposed to chickenpox or measles. Avoid live vaccinations while taking Pedipred. Long-term use in children may affect growth and development. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be carefully considered and only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
