Ovulet 100

Presentation: Tablets containing 100 mg of clomiphene citrate.

Indications: Ovulet 100 is indicated for the treatment of ovulatory dysfunction in women desiring pregnancy. This includes conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and other causes of infrequent or absent ovulation.

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose is 50 mg once daily for 5 days. If ovulation does not occur, subsequent cycles may involve a higher dose or a longer duration of treatment, up to a maximum of 100 mg daily for 5 days. Treatment cycles are typically initiated on or about the 5th day of the menstrual cycle (or at any time if there has been no recent uterine bleeding). The dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by your doctor based on your individual response.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include hot flushes, abdominal discomfort, bloating, nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, headache, and visual disturbances. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), a potentially serious condition, can occur, characterized by enlarged ovaries, fluid accumulation in the abdomen, and abdominal pain. Multiple pregnancies (twins, triplets, etc.) are also a potential risk with clomiphene citrate use. Report any persistent or troublesome side effects to your doctor immediately, especially severe abdominal pain, rapid weight gain, or breathing difficulties.

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, especially ovarian cysts, liver disease, abnormal uterine bleeding of undetermined cause, or a history of thromboembolic events.
• A thorough pelvic examination is usually required before starting treatment with Ovulet 100.
• Ovulet 100 should not be used in women who are pregnant or have undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding.
• Visual symptoms such as blurred vision or spots may occur; if these develop, discontinue the medication and consult your doctor.
• Be aware of the increased chance of multiple pregnancies and ectopic pregnancy with Ovulet 100 treatment.
• Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements.  

Storage:   Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
