Ingredients: Typically contains a combination of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Mononitrate), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride), and Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) in varying strengths depending on the specific product. Common strengths include Vitamin B1 100mg, Vitamin B6 200mg, and Vitamin B12 200mcg.
Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of deficiencies of Vitamin B1, B6, and B12. Also used in the management of various neuropathies (nerve disorders) of different origins, such as diabetic neuropathy, alcoholic neuropathy, neuritis, neuralgia, cervical syndrome, shoulder-arm syndrome, lumbago, sciatica, and facial paresis. May also be used as supportive therapy following major surgery or debilitating illness.
Dosage & Administration: The usual adult dose is 1 to 3 tablets daily, or as directed by a physician. The tablets should be swallowed whole with a little water, with or after meals. The duration of treatment is determined by the physician.
Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. However, allergic reactions may occur in rare cases. Gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain are also possible.
Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Vitamin B6 may reduce the effectiveness of Levodopa. Certain medications like Isoniazid, Cycloserine, Penicillamine, and Hydralazine may decrease the efficacy of Vitamin B6. Long-term intake of high doses of Vitamin B6 (above 50mg daily for 6-12 months) may lead to neuropathies. Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) should not be given in patients with subacute degeneration of the spinal cord without proper diagnosis.
Storage: Store in a cool (below 25°C) and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
