Myorel (Baclofen) is prescribed for:

Mechanism of Action

As a GABA-B receptor agonist, Myorel:

1. Inhibits spinal reflex pathways → reduces glutamate release

2. Decreases muscle hypertonia and spasms

3. Provides central antinociceptive (pain-relieving) effects

Dosage Protocol

Critical Administration Notes:

• Always take with meals to minimize GI upset

• For renal impairment: Max 5 mg/day (CrCl <30 mL/min)

• Never discontinue abruptly - Taper over 1-2 weeks

Contraindications & High-Risk Groups

❌ Absolute Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to baclofen

• Concurrent levodopa therapy (Parkinson's patients)
