Mirapro 7.5

Presentation: Each tablet contains Mirtazapine BP 7.5 mg.

Indications: Mirapro is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder.

Dosage & Administration: The usual starting dose for adults is 15 mg once daily, preferably at bedtime. The dose may be increased gradually by the physician, typically at intervals of one to two weeks, depending on the patient's response. The effective daily dose is usually between 15 mg and 45 mg. Elderly patients are usually recommended to start on a lower dose, such as 7.5 mg or 15 mg daily. The dose should be taken at the same time each day, preferably in the evening or before sleep. Follow the physician's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include increased appetite, weight gain, somnolence (sleepiness), sedation, and dry mouth. Less common side effects can include constipation, nausea, and dizziness.

Precautions: Mirapro should be used with caution in patients with a history of seizures, cardiovascular disease, hepatic or renal impairment, angle-closure glaucoma, and prostatic hypertrophy. Avoid abrupt discontinuation of treatment as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms. Mirtazapine may impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Use with caution in patients with mania or hypomania. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions: Mirtazapine should not be used in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within two weeks of discontinuing MAOI treatment. It may enhance the sedative effects of alcohol and other central nervous system depressants. Caution should be exercised when used concomitantly with other serotonergic drugs.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
