Maxpro 40 Capsule contains Esomeprazole 40mg.Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach.  

Indications:

Maxpro 40 Capsule is used for the treatment of:

• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)  
• Erosive esophagitis (damage to the esophagus from stomach acid)  
• Maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis
• Risk reduction of NSAID-associated gastric ulcers  
• H. pylori eradication (in combination with antibiotics)
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and idiopathic hypersecretion  
• Duodenal and gastric ulcers  
• Acid-related dyspepsia

Dosage and Administration:

The dosage of Maxpro 40 Capsule depends on the condition being treated and the patient's response. It is crucial to follow your doctor's instructions. General dosage guidelines are:

• Healing of Erosive Esophagitis:20 mg or 40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks.  
• Maintenance of Healing of Erosive Esophagitis:20 mg once daily.  
• Symptomatic GERD:20 mg once daily for 4 weeks; an additional 4 weeks may be considered if symptoms don't resolve.  
• Risk Reduction of NSAID-Associated Gastric Ulcer: 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks.
• H. pylori eradication:Esomeprazole 40 mg once daily for 10 days, along with Amoxicillin and Clarithromycin.  
• Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Initial dose of 40-80 mg once daily, adjusted based on response.
• Acid-related Dyspepsia: 20-40 mg once daily for 2-4 weeks.
• Duodenal ulcer:20 mg once daily for 2-4 weeks.  
• Gastric ulcer:20-40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks.  

Administration:

• Maxpro 40 Capsule should be taken at least one hour before a mealon an empty stomach.  
• The capsule should be swallowed whole with liquid and not chewed or crushed.  
• For patients who have difficulty swallowing capsules, the contents can be sprinkled onto a tablespoon of cool applesauce and swallowed immediately. Do not chew the pellets.

• Headache  
• Diarrhea  
• Stomach pain
• Constipation  
• Flatulence  
• Nausea  
• Vomiting
• Dry mouth  

Long-term use may lead to:

• Weakened bones (increased risk of fractures)  
• Deficiency in magnesium  
• Vitamin B12 deficiency  

Precautions:
