Linarol-M 850

Presentation:Each tablet contains linagliptin 2.5 mg and metformin hydrochloride 850 mg.

Indications:Linarol-M 850 is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with bothlinagliptin and metformin is appropriate.  

Dosage and Administration:The dosageshould be individualized based on the patient's current regimen, effectiveness, and tolerability, not exceeding the maximum recommendeddaily dose. It is usually administered orally twice daily with meals to reduce the gastrointestinal side effects associated with metformin.The recommended starting dose in patients not currently treated with metformin isone tablet twice daily. In patients already treated with metformin 850 mg twice daily, the starting dose is one tablet of Linarol-M 850 twice daily.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, and skin rash. Hypoglycemia may occur when Linarol-M 850 is used in combination with insulin secretagogues (e.g., sulfonylureas) or insulin.Lactic acidosis is a rare but serious potential side effect associated with metformin.  

Precautions: Renal function should be assessed before initiating Linarol-M 850 and periodically thereafter. Use is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min).Caution is advised in patients with a history of pancreatitis. Hepatic impairment, heart failure, and excessive alcohol intake are also important considerations.

Storage: Store below 25°C in a cool and dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
