Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate (derived from coral fossil) equivalent to elemental Calcium 500 mg, Vitamin D3 (as Cholecalciferol) 1000 IU, and Vitamin K2 (as Menaquinone-7) 75 mcg. Available in strips. Manufactured by Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.
Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate (from coral fossil), Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), and Vitamin K2 (Menaquinone-7).
Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, rickets, osteomalacia, tetany, and parathyroid disease. Also used during pregnancy and lactation due to increased demand, and for the prevention and treatment of calcium, vitamin D3, or vitamin K2 deficiency, especially in housebound and institutionalized elderly patients.
Dosage and Administration:2 tablets per day, preferably one tablet in the morning and the other in the evening with plenty of water,or as directed by a physician.
Side Effects: Common side effects may include flatulence, nausea, gastric pain, diarrhea, and skin rash. Hypercalciuria and hypercalcaemia may occur with long-term treatment at high dosages.
Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the product. Careful monitoring with dose reduction may be needed for patients with mild hypercalciuria. In case of mild to moderate renal impairment and for long-term use, plasma and serum calcium levelsshould be monitored. May interact with diuretics and Warfarin. Concomitant ingestion of certain foods like spinach, milk, and its derivatives may reduce the intestinal uptake of Calcium. Phenytoin, Barbiturates,and Glucocorticoids may induce the metabolism of Vitamin D3.
Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
