Presentation: Gavinil Max is an oral suspension containing a combination of Sodium Alginate, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Calcium Carbonate. The typical strength per 10 ml suspension is Sodium Alginate 500 mg, Sodium Bicarbonate 213 mg, and Calcium Carbonate 325 mg. It is usually available in 200 ml bottles.
Indications: Gavinil Max is indicated for the symptomatic relief of:
Dosage and Administration: Gavinil Max oral suspension should be taken orally after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.
A time interval of 2 hours should be considered between Gavinil Max intake and the administration of other medicinal products, especiallycertain antibiotics (tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones), digoxin, iron salts, ketoconazole, neuroleptics, thyroid hormones, and some beta-blockers.
Side Effects: In addition to the desired effect, some side effects may occur, such as constipation, flatulence, stomach cramps, or belching. Allergic reactions like urticaria or bronchospasm have been reported rarely.
Precautions: Gavinil Max is contraindicated in patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any of the excipients. Care needs to be taken in treating patients with hypercalcaemia, nephrocalcinosis, and recurrent calcium-containing renal calculi.It should be used with caution in patients on a sodium-restricted diet as it contains a significant amount of sodium. Treatment of children younger than 12 years of age is not generally recommended, except on medical advice. If symptoms persist, or treatment is required for more than 7 days continuously, medical advice should be sought. Â
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Gavinil Max can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding as no effects of the active substances have been shown in breastfed newborns/infants of treated mothers.
Storage:Store in a cool (below 30°C) and dry place, away from light. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Â
