Galet-M 850 (Tablet)

Presentation: Each tablet contains Vildagliptin INN 50 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride BP 850 mg. Available in strips.

Indications: Indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus whose diabetes is not adequately controlled on metformin hydrochloride or vildagliptin alone, or who are already treated with the combination of vildagliptin and metformin hydrochloride as separate tablets.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage should be individualized based on the patient's current regimen, glycemic control, and tolerability, not exceeding the maximum recommended daily dose of vildagliptin 100 mg and metformin 2000 mg. Usually taken twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening, with or just after food to reduce gastrointestinal symptoms associated with metformin. Patients receiving vildagliptin and metformin from separate tablets may be switched to Galet-M 850 containing the same doses of each component.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and tremor. Hypoglycemia may occur when used in combination with insulin or sulfonylureas.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to vildagliptin, metformin hydrochloride, or any of the excipients, severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), acute metabolic acidosis, or diabetic ketoacidosis. Not recommended in patients with hepatic impairment, heart failure, or a history of lactic acidosis. Temporary discontinuation is recommended for surgical procedures or radiological examinations involving iodinated contrast media. Avoid excessive alcohol intake.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
