G-Calbo DX

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate (from Algae source) equivalent to 600 mg of elemental Calcium and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) 400 IU. The Algae source Calcium provides Calcium along with 12 other essential bone-supporting minerals from seawater.

Indications: G-Calbo DX is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and parathyroid disease. It is also used to ensure adequate dietary intake of Calcium and Vitamin D3 in conditions such as pregnancy and lactation, and during therapy with anti-seizure medications. It can also be used as a routine supplement.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dose is one tablet in the morning and one tablet at night, or as directed by a physician. The tablet should be taken orally. It is generally recommended to take it with or just after a meal to improve absorption.

Side Effects: Orally administered Calcium Carbonate may cause irritation to the gastrointestinal tract and constipation. Hypercalcemia is rare with Calcium alone but may occur with large doses in patients with chronic renal failure. Other possible side effects include allergic reactions, irregular heartbeats, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, dry mouth, drowsiness, and skin rash following Vitamin D3 supplementation.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, bone metastases or other malignant bone disease, sarcoidosis, and Vitamin D3 overdosage. Caution should be exercised in patients with mild to moderate renal failure, mild hypercalciuria, a history of renal stones, and those receiving treatment for cardiovascular disease (thiazide diuretics and cardiac glycosides). Long-term treatment requires monitoring of serum and urinary calcium levels and kidney function.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
