Fosibon-DK 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium (derived from coral fossil), Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), and Vitamin K2 (Menaquinone-7). Available in Alu-PVDC blister packs, typically with 30 tablets per box. Manufactured by Aristopharma Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Ingredients: Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate (derived from coral fossil) 1250 mg (equivalent to elemental Calcium 500 mg), Vitamin D3 1000 IU as Cholecalciferol,and Vitamin K2 0.075 mg as Menaquinone-7.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, rickets, osteomalacia, tetany, and parathyroid disease. Also used during pregnancy and lactation due to increased demand, and for the prevention and treatment of Calcium, Vitamin D3, or Vitamin K2 deficiency, especially in housebound and institutionalized elderly patients.  

Dosage & Administration:2 tablets per day, preferably one tablet in the morning and the other in the evening with plenty of water,or as directed by a physician.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include flatulence, nausea, gastric pain, diarrhea, and skin rash. Hypercalciuria and hypercalcemia may occur with long-term treatment at high dosages.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the product. Careful monitoring with dose reduction may be needed for patients with mild hypercalciuria. In case of mild to moderate renal impairment and for long-term use, plasma and serum calcium levelsshould be monitored. Urinary calcium excretion should also be measured in patients with a history of renal stones to exclude hypercalciuria.Calcium reabsorption and urinary calcium excretion can be affected by the administration of diuretics.
