Femoston 2/10 

Presentation: Each pack contains 28 film-coated tablets. The first 14 tablets are brick-red and contain 2 mg estradiol (as hemihydrate). The subsequent 14 tablets are yellow and contain 2 mg estradiol (as hemihydrate) and 10 mg dydrogesterone.

Indications: Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for estrogen deficiency symptoms in postmenopausal women at least 6 months since the last menses. Prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of future fractures who are intolerant of, or contraindicatedfor, other medicinal products approved for the prevention of osteoporosis.  

Dosage and Administration:   One tablet is taken orally once daily without interruption. For the first 14 days, take one brick-red tablet (estradiol only). For the following 14 days, take one yellow tablet (estradiol and dydrogesterone). After completing a 28-day cycle, a new pack is started immediately. Femoston 2/10 can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: Common side effects include headache, abdominal pain, back pain, breast pain or tenderness. Less common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, flatulence, leg cramps, dizziness, mood changes, and vaginal bleeding irregularities.

Precautions: Contraindicated in women with known or suspected breast cancer, known or suspected estrogen-dependent malignant tumours, undiagnosed genital bleeding, untreated endometrial hyperplasia, previousor current venous thromboembolism, known thrombophilic disorders, active or recent arterial thromboembolic disease, acute liver disease,porphyria, and known hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the excipients. Use with caution in women with risk factors for thromboembolic disorders, estrogen-sensitive tumours, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, migraine, epilepsy, asthma, systemic lupus erythematosus, and liver disorders.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
