Femoston 1/10 

Presentation: Each pack contains 14 white tablets, each containing Estradiol (as hemihydrate) 1 mg, and 14 grey tablets, each containing Estradiol (as hemihydrate) 1 mg and Dydrogesterone 10 mg. Available in blister packs.

Indications: Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for estrogen deficiency symptoms in postmenopausal women at least 6 months since last menses. Prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of future fractures who are intolerant of, or contraindicatedfor, other medicinal products approved for the prevention of osteoporosis.  

Dosage and Administration:   Usually, one tablet is taken daily without a break. For the first 14 days of a 28-day cycle, one white tablet (estradiol only) is taken daily. For the following 14 days, one grey tablet (estradiol and dydrogesterone) is taken daily. After a 28-day cycle, a new 28-day cycle begins immediately. Femoston 1/10 can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Take at the same time each day.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include headache, breast pain or tenderness, nausea, abdominal pain, back pain, pelvic pain, vaginal discharge, and weight gain. Uncommon side effects may include mood changes, nervousness, dizziness, indigestion, and breast swelling.

Precautions: Contraindicated in women with known or suspected breast cancer, known or suspected estrogen-dependent malignant tumours, undiagnosed genital bleeding, untreated endometrial hyperplasia, previousor current venous thromboembolism,arterial thromboembolic disease, known thrombophilic disorders, acute liver disease or a history of liver disease as long as liver function testshave failed to return to normal, porphyria, andknown hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
