Ezylife Max 

Presentation:Ezylife Max is a concentrated oral solution containing Sodium Picosulfate at a strength of 7.5 mg per ml.It is usually available in a 15 ml bottle. Pharmasia Limited markets Ezylife Max in Bangladesh.  

Indications: Ezylife Max (Sodium Picosulfate) is a stimulant laxative indicated for the short-term relief of constipation. It is also used for bowel preparation before medical procedures such as colonoscopy or surgery.  

Dosage and Administration: Ezylife Max oral solution is usually taken as a single dose at night to produce a bowel movement the following morning. The recommended doses are:

• Adults and children over 10 years: 0.67 - 1.33 ml once daily at bedtime.
• Children aged 4-10 years: 0.33 - 0.67 ml once daily at bedtime.
• Children aged 1 month to 4 years: 0.25 ml per kg of body weight once daily at bedtime (maximum 0.67 ml).

Use a suitable measuring device (such as a syringe or dropper with clear markings for small volumes) for accurate dosing. Shake the bottle well before use.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include abdominal cramps, abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Less common side effects may include dizziness, syncope, and hypersensitivity reactions. Prolonged excessive use may lead to fluid and electrolyte imbalances, particularly hypokalemia.

Precautions: Ezylife Max (Sodium Picosulfate) is contraindicated in patients with ileus or intestinal obstruction, severe painful abdominal conditions (like appendicitis), acute inflammatory bowel diseases, and severe dehydration. Caution should be used in patients with kidney or liver problems, heart disease, or a history of seizures. Prolonged use may lead to dependence and electrolyte imbalance. This product is harmful for those suffering from alcoholism and should be used with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women and children.  

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: While considered generally safe, pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using Ezylife Max.

Storage:Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture.Keep out of reach of children.
