Empazin-L 25/5

Presentation:Each tablet of Empazin-L 25/5 contains empagliflozin 25 mg and linagliptin 5 mg.

Indications:Empazin-L is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.  

Dosage and Administration:The recommendeddose is one tablet (empagliflozin 25 mg/linagliptin 5 mg) once daily, taken in the morning, with or without food. Assess renal function before initiating Empazin-L and periodically thereafter. Empazin-L should not be initiated if eGFR is below 45 mL/min/1.73 m². Discontinue if eGFR falls below 45 mL/min/1.73 m².

Side Effects:Common side effects may include urinary tract infections, nasopharyngitis, and increased urination.Hypoglycemia may occur when used in combination with insulin or insulin secretagogues.Other possible side effects include genital mycotic infections.  

Precautions:Empazin-L is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, end-stage renal disease, or those on dialysis.It should not be initiated in patients with an eGFR < 45 mL/min/1.73 m². Assess and correct volume status before initiating therapy. Monitor for signs and symptoms of urinary tract infections and genital mycotic infections. Caution should be used in patients with a history of pancreatitis.

Storage:Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.Keep out of reach of children.
