Emazid L 25/5 

Presentation: Emazid L 25/5 Tablet, available in Bangladesh, is a film-coated tablet containing Empagliflozin 25 mg and Linagliptin 5 mg for oral administration. It is typically available in blister packs.

Indications:Emazid L is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.It is also indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease.  

Dosage and Administration:The recommendeddose is one tablet of Emazid L 25/5 mg once daily, taken in the morning, with or without food. Prior to initiation, assess renal function and do not start if eGFR is below 45 mL/min/1.73 m². Discontinue if eGFR falls below this level.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include urinary tract infections, female genital mycotic infections, increased urination, increased thirst, nausea, and hypoglycemia (especially when used with insulin or sulfonylureas). Other potential side effects include dehydration, hypotension, and increased LDL-C.

Precautions: Emazid L is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, end-stage renal disease, or dialysis, and in patients with a history of serious hypersensitivity reactions to empagliflozin or linagliptin. It should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, heart failure, and those at risk of volume depletion. Monitor for signs and symptoms of pancreatitis, ketoacidosis, and necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum (Fournier’s Gangrene).

Storage: Store Emazid L 25/5 tablets in a cool and dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
