Elagox 200 

Presentation: Elagox 200 Tablet contains Elagolix Sodium equivalent to 200 mg of Elagolix. It is presented as a tablet for oral administration and is usually available in blister packs.  

Indications:Elagox is indicated for the management of moderate to severe endometriosis pain in women.Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, often causing pain, heavy periods, and infertility.Elagolix works by suppressing the production of estrogen and progesterone, hormones that can fuel the growth of endometrial tissue.

Dosage and Administration: The recommended dosage of Elagox 200 is one tablet taken orally once daily. It can be taken with or without food.Treatment duration should be as recommended by a healthcare professional. If a dose is missed by less than 4 hours, it should be taken as soon as remembered. If a dose is missed by more than 4 hours, the missed dose should be skipped, and the next dose should be taken at the regular time. Two doses should not be taken at the same time.

Side Effects:Common side effects associated with Elagox may include hot flushes, headache, nausea, insomnia, anxiety, arthralgia (joint pain), decreased bone mineral density, and changes in menstruation (such as amenorrhea or spotting).These side effects are related to the reduced estrogen levels caused by the medication.

Precautions:Elagox is contraindicated in women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, have known osteoporosis, severe liver disease, or known hypersensitivity to elagolix or any of its components.It is also contraindicated in women using combined hormonal contraceptives or estrogen-containing therapies. Elagolix can cause a decrease in bone mineral density, which may not be fully reversible after stopping treatment.The duration of treatment should be limited as recommended by a healthcare professional to minimize this risk. Women of reproductive potential should use effective non-hormonal contraception during treatment with Elagox and for 28 days after discontinuing the medication.

Storage:Store Elagox 200 tablets below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light.Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
