Dicliz Plus 20
Presentation: Each extended-release film-coated tablet contains Doxylamine Succinate USP 20 mg and Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP 20 mg.
Indications: Dicliz Plus 20 is indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy in women who do not respond to conservative management.
Dosage & Administration: Initially, one tablet orally at bedtime on an empty stomach with water. If symptoms are controlled, continue with one tablet daily at bedtime. If symptoms persist on the following day, the dose may be increased to one tablet in the morning and one tablet at bedtime. The maximum recommended daily dose is two tablets (one in the morning and one at bedtime). Swallow tablets whole; do not crush, chew, or split them. Take daily, not on an as-needed basis.
Side Effects: The most common side effect is somnolence (drowsiness). Other possible side effects include dry mouth, constipation, and lightheadedness.
Precautions: This combination may cause drowsiness. Avoid activities requiring complete mental alertness. Concomitant use with CNS depressants, including alcohol, is not recommended. Exercise caution in women with asthma, increased intraocular pressure, narrow-angle glaucoma, stenosing peptic ulcer, pyloroduodenal obstruction, or urinary bladder-neck obstruction due to its anticholinergic properties.
Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers: Pregnancy Category A. Can be given to pregnant women safely. Both Doxylamine and Pyridoxine are excreted in breast milk; caution should be exercised while breastfeeding.
Drug Interactions: Contraindicated in women taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Concurrent use with alcohol and other CNS depressants is not recommended.
Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
