Diampa 10
Presentation: Each tablet of Diampa 10 contains 10 mg of empagliflozin.
Indications: Diampa (empagliflozin) is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control. It is also indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease.
Dosage and Administration:The recommendedstarting dose is 10 mg once daily, taken in the morning, with or without food. In patients tolerating Diampa 10 who have an eGFR ≥45 mL/min/1.73 m² and require additional glycemic control, the dose can be increased to 25 mg once daily. The maximum daily dose is 25 mg. In patients with volume depletion, correcting this condition prior to initiation of empagliflozin is recommended. Renal function should be assessed before initiating Diampa and periodically thereafter. Diampa should not be initiated in patients with an eGFR less than 45 mL/min/1.73 m².
Side Effects: The most common side effects associated with empagliflozin are urinary tract infections and female genital mycotic infections. Other common side effects include increased urination, increased thirst, nausea, and dehydration. Hypotension (low blood pressure) and dizziness may also occur.
Precautions: Diampa is contraindicated in patients with a history of serious hypersensitivity reaction to empagliflozin or any of its ingredients, severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), end-stage renal disease, or dialysis. It should not be used for the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis. Assessment of renal function is recommended prior to initiation of Diampa and periodically thereafter. Caution should be taken with concomitant use of diuretics due to the potential for increased urination and volume depletion.
Storage: Store below 30°C in a cool and dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
