Indications

This gel is indicated for the topical treatment of various types of scars, including:

• Hypertrophic and keloid scars
• Scars resulting from surgery, amputation, burns, and trauma
• Scars due to traumatic tendon contracture

Pharmacology

The gel is a combination of three active ingredients:

• Extract of Allium cepa (onion membrane extract): This ingredient has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects by inhibiting the secretion of inflammatory mediators. It also inhibits the growth of fibroblasts, particularly those that form keloids, and has a bactericidal effect. This helps to promote normal wound healing and prevent abnormal scar formation.
• Heparin: When applied topically, heparin inhibits fibroblast proliferation and increases tissue hydration. It helps to reduce irritation caused by hardened and inflamed tissue.
• Allantoin: This substance stimulates cellular proliferation and supports the development of healthy cells. It helps in the process of epithelialization (the formation of new skin) and creates a more elastic surface, which is beneficial for scar treatment.

Dosage & Administration

The gel should be applied to the affected area 3-4 times a day. Massage the gel in gently with a circular motion until it is completely absorbed to ensure better penetration. The duration of treatment can range from several weeks to months, depending on the size and type of the scar. This gel is considered very safe and is suitable for use in small children and babies.

There are no known or reported drug interactions.

Contraindications

This gel should not be used by patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

Side Effects

The gel is generally well tolerated, even with long-term use. In rare cases, some local irritations such as mild redness (erythema) and itching have been reported. These side effects typically do not require discontinuation of the treatment.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Studies on the use of this gel during pregnancy and lactation have not been conducted. Therefore, it should be used with caution during these periods.

Precautions & Warnings

When treating fresh scars, it is important to avoid excessive cold, UV light, and abrupt massage. The gel should not come into contact with the eyes, inside of the nose or mouth, or other mucous membranes.

Storage Conditions

Store in a cool and dry place below 25°C. Protect the gel from direct sunlight and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
