Allygest 5

Presentation: Tablets containing 5 mg of allylestrenol.

Indications: Allygest 5 is a progestogen medication primarily indicated for the prevention of threatened and habitual abortion. It may also be used in certain cases of primary or secondary amenorrhea and dysfunctional uterine bleeding. The specific uses will be determined by your doctor.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Allygest 5 varies depending on the indication and the severity of the condition. For threatened abortion, the initial dose may be higher, followed by a maintenance dose. For other conditions, the dosage and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor. The tablets are administered orally. Follow your doctor's instructions precisely regarding the dose and duration of treatment.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, headache, and changes in libido. Less common side effects may include fluid retention, weight gain, and mood changes. Report any persistent or troublesome side effects to your doctor.

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, especially liver disease, thromboembolic disorders (blood clots), or a history of jaundice during pregnancy.
• Allygest 5 should not be used in patients with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding or known or suspected hormone-dependent tumors.
• Caution should be exercised in patients with epilepsy, migraine, asthma, or cardiac or renal dysfunction, as these conditions may be aggravated by progestogens.
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant, unless Allygest 5 is being prescribed for the prevention of threatened abortion.
• It is not known whether allylestrenol is excreted in breast milk. Caution should be exercised if Allygest 5 is administered to a breastfeeding woman.
• Be aware of potential drug interactions and inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements.  

Storage:   Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
