Alanil Suspension - (30mg/5ml)

• Presentation:
  • Each 5 ml contains 30 mg of Fexofenadine Hydrochloride.  
  • Available in bottles of [mention typical bottle size, e.g., 60 ml].
• Indications:
  • Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis.  
  • Relief of symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria.  
• Dosage and Administration:
  • Adults and children 12 years and older: The recommended dose is 60 mg (10 ml) twice daily.
  • Children 6 to 11 years:The recommended dose is 30 mg (5 ml) twice daily.  
  • Alanil Suspension should be taken orally.
  • Use the provided measuring device or a marked teaspoon to ensure accurate dosing.
• Pharmacology:
  • Fexofenadine Hydrochloride is a histamine H1-receptor antagonist.It works by selectively blocking histamine H1 receptors, thereby reducing the symptoms of allergic reactions.  
• Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include:
    • Headache
    • Drowsiness
    • Nausea  
    • Dizziness
  • Less common side effects may include fatigue, dry mouth, and indigestion.
• Precautions:
  • Use with caution in patients with kidney problems; dosage adjustment may be necessary.
  • Caution should be exercised when taking Alanil Suspension with erythromycin or ketoconazole, as it may increase fexofenadine levels.
  • Avoid taking Alanil Suspension with fruit juices (such as grapefruit, orange, or apple juice) as they may decrease the absorption of fexofenadine.  
• Pregnancy & Lactation:
  • Alanil Suspension should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
  • It is not known whether fexofenadine is excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when administering Alanil Suspension to a nursing woman.
• Storage:
  • Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.
