Syndopa CR 125

Presentation: Controlled-release tablets containing Levodopa 100 mg and Carbidopa 25 mg.

Indications: Treatment of Parkinson's disease, particularly to reduce "off" periods in patients previously treated with levodopa/decarboxylase inhibitors or levodopa alone who have experienced motor fluctuations. May also be used for Parkinsonism and symptomatic Parkinsonism.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage is individualized. Initially, the usual starting dose is one tablet two or three times daily. Dosage may be adjusted by the physician based on clinical response. May be taken with or without food, but avoid high-protein meals.

Side Effects: Common: nausea, involuntary movements (dyskinesia), dizziness, headache, dry mouth, abnormal dreams. Less common: confusion, hallucinations, orthostatic hypotension, vomiting, loss of appetite.

Precautions: Use caution in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease, severe pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, renal, hepatic, or endocrine disorders, or a history of peptic ulcer or convulsions. Not recommended in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma or malignant melanoma. May cause drowsiness; caution advised while driving or operating machinery.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
