Sizodon MD 4

Presentation: Each orally disintegrating tablet (MD - Melt in Mouth) contains 4 mg of Risperidone.

Indications: Sizodon MD (Risperidone) is indicated for the treatment of:

• Schizophrenia
• Bipolar disorder (manic or mixed episodes)
• Irritability associated with autistic disorder in children and adolescents

The orally disintegrating tablet formulation is designed to dissolve quickly in the mouth, making it easier for some individuals to take, especially those who have difficulty swallowing.

Dosage and Administration:

• Schizophrenia:
  • Adults: The usual starting dose is 2 mg once or twice daily. The dose may be adjusted gradually to 4-6 mg daily. In some cases, higher doses up to 16 mg/day may be required.
  • Adolescents (13-17 years): The usual starting dose is 0.5 mg once or twice daily, with gradual increases to a target dose of 1-6 mg daily.
• Bipolar Disorder:
  • Adults: The usual starting dose is 2-3 mg once daily. The dose may be adjusted to a target dose of 1-6 mg daily.
  • Children and Adolescents (10-17 years): The usual starting dose is 0.5 mg once daily, with gradual increases to a target dose of 1-6 mg daily.
• Autistic Disorder:
  • Children and Adolescents (5-16 years): Dosing is based on weight and should be determined by a physician.

Sizodon MD tablets will dissolve rapidly in the mouth and can be swallowed with or without liquid. Avoid handling the tablet with wet hands as it may dissolve prematurely. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Increased appetite and weight gain
• Extrapyramidal symptoms (tremors, muscle stiffness, restlessness)
• Fatigue
• Blurred vision
• Dry mouth
• Constipation

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor if you have a history of cardiovascular disease, seizures, or diabetes.
• Use with caution in elderly patients and those with kidney or liver problems.
• It may increase prolactin levels, leading to breast enlargement and milk production in both men and women.
• Sizodon MD 4 may interact with other medications, including certain antidepressants and antipsychotics.
• Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Sizodon MD 4.
• Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only occur if the potential benefits outweigh the risks, and under the guidance of a physician.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
