Seton 8

Presentation: Each tablet contains 8 mg Ondansetron (as Ondansetron Hydrochloride Dihydrate).

Indications: Prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. May also be used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with gastroenteritis.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage depends on the cause of nausea and vomiting and the patient's age. For chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in adults, the usual oral dose is 8 mg taken 1-2 hours before treatment, followed by 8 mg every 8 hours as needed. For postoperative nausea and vomiting, a single dose of 16 mg may be given one hour before anesthesia, or 8 mg shortly before induction followed by two 8 mg doses at eight-hour intervals. For children, dosage is usually based on weight or body surface area. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common: Headache, constipation. Less common: Dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea. Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions, transient ECG changes including QT prolongation, seizures (rarely reported).

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart problems, especially irregular heartbeat (QT prolongation), liver disease, or allergies to other antiemetic drugs. Use with caution in patients with electrolyte imbalances. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
