Seronex 50
Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Sertraline Hydrochloride equivalent to Sertraline 50 mg.
Indications: Seronex (Sertraline) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder (social phobia), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose for depression and OCD is 50 mg once daily. For panic disorder, PTSD, and social anxiety disorder, the starting dose is typically 25 mg once daily, increased to 50 mg once daily after one week. For PMDD, the starting dose is usually 50 mg daily, either continuously or intermittently (during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle). Dosage may be increased gradually by a healthcare professional based on individual response and tolerability, up to a maximum of 200 mg per day. Seronex tablets should be administered orally once daily, in the morning or evening, with or without food.
Side Effects: Common adverse reactions may include nausea, diarrhea/loose stools, tremor, dyspepsia, decreased appetite, hyperhidrosis, ejaculation failure, somnolence, insomnia, and dizziness.
Precautions: Seronex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sertraline or any of its inactive ingredients and should not be used concomitantly with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of discontinuing an MAOI. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of mania/hypomania, seizure disorder, hepatic impairment, or bleeding disorders. It may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior, especially in children, adolescents, and young adults. Avoid abrupt discontinuation.
Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
