Pegalin 75 Capsule contains Pregabalin 75 mg. It is manufactured by Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

Indications: Pegalin is indicated for:

• Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. 
• Postherpetic neuralgia. Adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures in patients 1 month of age and older.  
• Fibromyalgia. Neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury.  
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) in adults.

Pharmacology: Pregabalin binds to the alpha2-delta site of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. While its exact mechanism isn't fully understood, this binding is thought to be involved in its pain-reducing and antiseizure effects.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage varies depending on the condition and individual response. Some general guidelines:

• Neuropathic pain (Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy): The maximum recommended dose is 100 mg three times a day (300 mg/day) for adults with adequate kidney function. Starting dose is usually 50 mg three times a day (150 mg/day).
• Postherpetic Neuralgia: The recommended dose is 75 to 150 mg twice a day or 50 to 100 mg three times a day (150 to 300 mg/day) for adults with adequate kidney function.
• Adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures: The starting dose should not exceed 150 mg/day (75 mg twice a day, or 50 mg three times a day). The dose may be increased up to 600 mg/day based on response and tolerability.
• Fibromyalgia: The recommended dose is 300 to 450 mg/day, starting at 75 mg twice a day (150 mg/day) and increased based on efficacy and tolerability.
• Neuropathic pain (Spinal Cord Injury): The recommended dose range is 150 to 600 mg/day, starting at 75 mg twice a day (150 mg/day).
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder: The recommended dose range is 150 to 600 mg per day, given in two or three divided doses.

Pegalin capsules can be taken with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Contraindications: Pegalin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or any of its ingredients.

Precautions:

• Pregabalin may cause dizziness and sleepiness, so caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery.
• Inform your doctor about any kidney problems, as dose adjustments may be needed.
• Be aware of potential mood changes, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts or behavior.
