Indications: Ovostat Gold is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy. It works by:

• Preventing ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary).
• Thickening the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to reach the egg.
• Thinning the lining of the uterus, making it less likely for a fertilized egg to implant.

Dosage and Administration:

• Take one tablet daily at the same time each day, following the order on the blister pack.
• Typically, you take the active (hormone-containing) pills for 21-22 days, followed by the inactive or placebo/iron pills for 6-7 days. During this inactive pill period, you will usually have your withdrawal bleed (similar to a period).
• Start the next pack immediately after finishing all the tablets in the current pack, without any break.
• It is usually recommended to start on the first day of your menstrual period. If starting on days 2-5 of your cycle, you may need to use a non-hormonal backup method of contraception (like condoms) for the first 7 days of pill-taking in the first cycle.
