Ostogen Plus EF 

Presentation: Effervescent tablets containing Calcium, Vitamin D3, and other minerals. Available in tubes. Manufactured by Opsonin Pharma Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Ingredients: Each effervescent tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium, Vitamin D3 BP (as Cholecalciferol) 400 IU, Magnesium Oxide BP equivalent to 40 mg Magnesium, Zinc Oxide BP equivalent to 7.5 mg Zinc, Cupric Oxide equivalent to 1 mg Copper, Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate BP equivalent to 1.8 mg Manganese, and Boron Citrate equivalent to 250 mcg Boron.

Indications: Prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. To maintain strong bone growth. For proper functioning of the heart, muscles, and nerves. As a nutritional supplement. For bone development and regeneration. During pregnancy and lactation. In deficiency states of Calcium, Vitamin D3, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, and Boron.

Dosage & Administration: Adults and children above 7 years: 1 to 2 effervescent tablets daily. Children 3-7 years: 1 effervescent tablet daily. Dissolve one tablet in a glass of water before consumption.

Side Effects: In rare cases, mild gastrointestinal disturbances (bloating, diarrhea) can occur.

Precautions: Contraindicated in hypercalcemia (e.g., in hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdosage, decalcifying tumors, bone metastases), severe hypercalciuria, and severe renal failure. Caution in patients with hyperoxaluria, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, or iron overload. Larger doses may cause gastrointestinal upset. Use caution in mild hypercalciuria, mild to moderate renal impairment, or a history of urinary stones. Monitor urinary calcium excretion if necessary. Avoid high doses of Vitamin D and its derivatives unless specifically indicated. Consider sugar content in diabetic patients. Use caution in severely impaired renal function, especially with aluminum-containing preparations. May interact with thiazide diuretics, phenytoin, barbiturates, glucocorticoids, digitalis and other cardiac glycosides, thyroxine, bisphosphonates, sodium fluoride, quinolone or tetracycline antibiotics, and iron. Separate administration by at least four hours. Certain foods (oxalic acid, phosphate, phytinic acid) may reduce calcium absorption.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place. Keep the tube tightly closed after each use. Keep out of reach of children.
