Memopil 800

Presentation: Each tablet contains 800 mg of Piracetam. 

Indications: Memopil 800 is indicated for:

• Treatment of cortical myoclonus (sudden, brief twitching of a muscle or a group of muscles).
• Cognitive impairment in elderly patients.

Dosage and Administration:

• Cortical Myoclonus: The usual starting dose is 7.2 g per day, divided into two or three doses. Depending on the response, the dose can be increased by 4.8 g per day every three to four days, up to a maximum of 24 g per day.
• Cognitive Impairment in Elderly Patients: The usual daily dose is 2.4 g, divided into two or three doses. This can be further increased to 4.8 g per day in more severe cases.

It is recommended to take Memopil 800 with or without food.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Nervousness
• Hyperkinesia (excessive movement)
• Weight gain
• Drowsiness
• Depression
• Asthenia (lack of energy)

Less common side effects may include:

• Abdominal pain
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Dizziness
• Headache
• Insomnia

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor if you have severe kidney disease.
• Use with caution in patients with bleeding disorders or those taking anticoagulant medications.
• Avoid abrupt discontinuation of treatment in patients with myoclonus, as it may lead to a relapse or seizures.
• The safety of Memopil 800 during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established. Consult your doctor before use.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
