Presentation: Hexinor Syrup contains Trihexyphenidyl Hydrochloride at a concentration of 2mg per 5ml.
Indications: Hexinor Syrup is indicated for the treatment of:
Dosage and Administration: The dosage should be individualized by a physician. The initial dose should be low and gradually increased, especially in patients over 60 years of age. Whether Hexinor is best given before or after meals should be determined by how the patient reacts. Â
Side Effects:Common side effects may include dryness of the mouth, blurring of vision, dizziness, mild nausea, or nervousness.Patients with arteriosclerosis or a history of idiosyncrasy to other drugs may experience reactions such as mental confusion, agitation, disturbed behavior, nausea, and vomiting.Potential side effects also include constipation, tiredness, urinary hesitancy or retention, dilated pupils, increased intraocular pressure, vomiting, and headache. Â
Precautions:
Contraindications: Hexinor is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Trihexyphenidyl HCl or any of the syrup ingredients and in patients with closed-angle glaucoma.
Drug Interactions: Increased antimuscarinic side effects may occur with phenothiazines, clozapine, antihistamines, disopyramide, nefopam, and amantadine. A synergistic effect may occur with concomitant use of tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs). Concurrent administration with MAOIs may cause dry mouth, blurred vision, urinary hesitancy or retention, and constipation. Trihexyphenidyl may antagonize the effect of metoclopramide and domperidone on gastrointestinal function and reduce the absorption of levodopa. It may also antagonize the effect of parasympathomimetics. Cannabinoids, barbiturates, sedatives, and alcohol may have additive effects.
Storage: Store as directed on the product packaging, usually at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
